Mobby Hotel Trofa
A four-star urban hotel on a through route, with its industrial character owned rather than hidden, and spaces that serve breakfast and work equally well.
CONCEPT & OBJECTIVE
Mobby Hotel Trofa
Trofa is a peripheral town with little capacity to draw destination tourism. A hotel here is not justified by the landscape — it is justified by the position. The through route between northern Portugal and northern Spain brings a particular kind of guest, and the brief was built from that reading.
The site sits in an industrial area, close to a former factory. Rather than disguise that context, we owned it: the industrial character and a contemporary, digital register set the identity of the building.
The brief is that of a four-star hotel with services: a small gym, conference rooms and a large atrium. The dining and breakfast rooms were designed to work as workspaces too, which answers directly to the profile of someone staying one or two nights in transit.
